The firm wanted a General Ledger Detail report stored on each client task the moment it was completed. Xero's API doesn't offer that report, so it couldn't simply be requested; it had to be rebuilt from data the API does expose, in a format that matches what a person downloads from Xero.
Ledger reports that file themselves.
Delivered to an automation agency for one of their bookkeeping clients. When a client task is marked complete in Asana, the matching ledger report is built from Xero and attached to the task, with no exporting and no attaching by hand.
See the real build ↓A Make scenario watches the client's Asana project for completed tasks and pulls the year's bank transactions from Xero. One route writes each transaction to a staging sheet in the report's 16 columns. The other waits for the sheet to fill, assembles it into a CSV, attaches it to the completed task, and clears the sheet for the next run.
